My name is Leigh Sussman. I worked as a choreographer, dancer and theatre designer before I started My Dream Wardrobe in 2013. At that time, I was a new mom with a new body. I realised I wasn't the only one struggling to dress myself. I now use all my expertise and personal experience to help my clients.
My passion is helping people transform their lives by transforming their looks. Fashion and style are powerful tools. They can alter the way others see you and can drastically alter how you feel about yourself. If you look good on the outside, you will feel better on the inside, and that feeling will radiate as you interact with others.
The way I work is constantly adapting based on research that I do. For example, I am interested in the work of Heather Widdows, an academic from Birmingham University. Her book "Perfect Me, Beauty as an ethical ideal", explores the changing nature of the beauty ideal, showing how it is more dominant, more demanding, and more global than ever before."
With this in mind, I work in a way that showcases each of my clients because I believe that every person is truly amazing. A miracle. Special.
My clients are up and coming or established professionals who often don't have the time or the headspace to focus on their looks. They understand the way they look is important to get ahead. I work closely with them, with kindness and patience, to create not a Dream Wardrobe for them that is filled with the right clothes and accessories, to match their lifestyles.
